ALADDIN AND THE WONDERFUL LAMP
Discover the magic of friendship and cooperation
Follow Aladdins journey of growth and self-discovery, as an enlightened genii empowers Aladdin to help himself. Through his exciting adventures, Aladdin finds that the richest treasure is the magic of knowledge. This inventive adaptation of the familiar Arabian Nights story is performed by two versatile actors, and enhanced with original songs, diverse musical instruments, splendid scenery and costumes, and enchanting magic effects.
Joe Cosentinos clever script, and Richard Stillmans original songs bring a modern message to this famous tale. The lazy Aladdin wants riches without work, and falls into the clutches of a selfish magician who deceives Aladdin into going into a cave to retrieve some treasure. After the traitorous magician locks Aladdin in the cave, Aladdin discovers the Genii of the lamp. Rather than directly granting his wishes, the Genii helps Aladdin find his own way out of the cave, and learn how to make his own fortune. When Aladdin stumbles onto the princess and falls in love, the Genii helps him make the connection, but Aladdin must win her love by himself. When the magician steals back the lamp, Aladdin learns how to solve his own problems, gets back the lamp and sets the Genii free.
